本报新加坡5月15日电 记者吕德胜、特约记者李根成报道：2007亚洲国际海事防务展今天在新加坡展览中心开幕，中国代表团团长、海军副参谋长张磊愚少将表示，中国海军愿意积极发展与各国海军的交往与合作，共同促进亚太地区海上的和平与稳定。
张磊愚是代表海军吴胜利司令员参加此次防务展的，这也是中国军方第四次派出代表团参加该展览。
近年来，海上通道的安全对世界经济的发展具有越来越重要的作用，共同应对海盗及恐怖主义的威胁也成为各国共同的需求。张磊愚说，中国对地区海上安全事务一直持积极态度，并积极通过东盟地区论坛、西太平洋海军论坛等渠道参与有关事务的协商。此次参加亚洲国际海事防务展，既是向各国海军学习的机会，也有利于展示中国对地区安全负责任的形象。
International Maritime Defense Exhibition Asia opens in Singapore
The International Maritime Defense Exhibition Asia (IMDEX Asia) 2007 opened on April 15 at the Singapore Expo Center. Rear Admiral Zhang Leiyu, head of the Chinese delegation and deputy chief of staff of the PLA Navy, said that the Chinese Navy is willing to actively develop exchange and cooperation with the naval forces of other countries in the world and work together with them to promote maritime peace and stability in the Asia-Pacific region.
Zhang Leiyu attended the exhibition on behalf of Wu Shengli, Commander of the PLA Navy and it is the fourth time for the Chinese military to send delegation to attend the exhibition.
In recent year, seaway security has been playing a more and more important role in the economic development of the world, and to cope with maritime terrorism and piracy has become a common demand of the countries in the world. Zhang Leiyu said that China has always adopted a positive attitude towards regional maritime security and actively participated in the consultations on the related matters through the ASEAN Regional Forum, Western Pacific Naval Symposium (WPNS) and other channels. The attendance of this exhibition has provided the Chinese delegation an opportunity to learn from the naval forces of other countries, meanwhile it is also conducive for the Chinese delegation to showcase China's image as a responsible country for the regional security.
